A shocking loss at the US Open will not stop Roger Federer… just yet
Roger Federer holds the all-time record of 20 Grand Slam titles. He has won pretty much everything there is to win in tennis, all the while making it look effortless. So… what now?
Rafael Nadal has many great dreams planned for his post-tennis life, but it could still be a while away. Speaking to CNTraveler the Swiss tennis player explained;
‘I would love to travel to Africa more—my mom’s from South Africa, and we have a foundation there where we support kids for a better education. And I’d love to do more travels as well with cars, not just with planes.
I feel like travelling through France, travelling through Italy, in my dream I see a nice car with just a Rimowa suitcase, going into these beautiful restaurants or a nice place in the countryside, meeting people, with the family.
It would be so much fun to do—but I’ll have to wait till I retire!’ Federer also spoke about his favourite hotel: ‘Burj al Arab in Dubai has to be at the top for me. We spend a lot of time there, and have gotten to know it really well.‘
Federer last played the US Open, where he lost in the fourth round to John Millman. Federer’s GOAT tag is currently at risk because of his performance. However, Federer’s coach Severin Luthi is remaining positive. In an interview to Nau, Luthi said:
‘Roger is doing fine! Of course, one is disappointed if you don‘t achieve what you wanted, so you try to improve and do things differently the next time, he‘s preparing for the Laver Cup and very much looking forward to it.’
Federer is still staying in the United States and from 21st to 23rd September, where he will play the Lager Cup in Chicago.
