Lewis Hamilton could clinch his sixth F1 Drivers’ Championship with victory at the US Grand Prix this weekend
How can Lewis Hamilton win the title in Austin?
Lewis Hamilton’s teammate Valtteri Bottas is the only driver left who can beat him to the championship. To do so he has to overturn a deficit of 74 points with 78 available over the remaining three races. This means the only way Hamilton can lose the world championship is if Bottas wins all of the remaining three races, while Hamilton scores less than four points.
If Bottas doesn’t win this weekend’s race, Hamilton will win the championship regardless of where he finishes. If Bottas does win the race, Hamilton needs to finish at least eighth, or finish ninth and score the fastest lap bonus point, to clinch the title on Sunday.

Austin is a very technical lap with a combination of low and high-speed corners. It’s a track where it’s quite difficult to follow other cars closely, but there are definitely overtaking opportunities.

US Grand Prix Betting Odds
Hamilton would clinch the title in Austin if he finishes eighth or better, regardless of where Bottas finishes. If Bottas fails to win the race then Hamilton would be crowned champion even if he fails to score a single point on Sunday.
We predict Hamilton will step on that podium and win the Championship this weekend!
