Dylan Teuns was the winner of stage 6 on Thursday as Geraint Thomas attacked his general classification rivals late on to finish fourth on the day.

The Belgian rider of Bahrain-Merida managed to break Giulio Ciccone on a brutal final climb to get the win just 11 seconds ahead of the Italian, but Ciccone did take the yellow jersey from Julian Alaphilippe by six seconds.

Alaphilippe just managed a fourth overall finish after a late attack. But he was passed by defending champion Thomas, who is now up to fifth.
