October is set to have some very big sporting events with the Rugby World Cup to approach its final stages towards the end of the month. One of the two Grand Prix races from Formula 1 this month is that in Suzuka, Japan. Find some of the best sports predictions here!
We also have some interesting matches from the Euro 2020 qualifying stages, with certain nations already close to securing their place at next year’s tournament.
Rugby World Cup 2019
Will New Zealand make it three Rugby World Cup triumphs in a row or can South Africa, England or Wales break the Kiwi stranglehold? And actually those are the four nations which we predict will be in the semi-finals at the end of the month.

Even though some may think that the All Blacks are in decline and also despite injuries and lack of form of some senior players, we think they are one of the frontrunners for the RWC 2019. New Zealand can almost consider themselves sure of a place in one of the semi-final matches this year. Odds of them winning the title: 2.1.
Given the form, the most obvious answer at the moment is South Africa to win the RWC 2019. The side is always in good shape for the important tournaments. They got a win and a draw in the past year against the All Blacks and would also be another reason to go for South Africa. Odds of them winning the title: 5.
Another of the potential semifinalists at the RWC 2019 is England who could face either South Africa or the All Blacks. England have the squad to cope with going all the way and they will be ready for battle. Odds of them winning the title: 5.
Maybe the biggest surprise of the four would be if Wales had to pull it off and become world champions. However, we think that they will make it to the semi-finals at least. It would be the first time for the current Welsh players to be in a World Cup final but we think they have what it takes to win it all. Odds of them winning the title: 10.
Japan GP 2019
As it stands, Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc and Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton are the two favourites to win the Japanese Grand Prix with the Brit slightly ahead at odds of 2.62. Leclerc is at odds of 2.75 to win yet another race this season.
Red Bull’s Max Verstappen is priced at odds of 10, ahead of the rest of the pack.
It’s perhaps no surprise to see Leclerc considered as one of the big favourites to take first place in Japan. When you consider his performance in Russia last time out, he’s certainly up there.
Euro 2020 qualifying
The current best two teams in the world Belgium and France are both in action during the two matchdays of Euro 2020. And we expect both nations to take a huge step forward towards securing their place ahead of next year’s tournament.
Belgium face San Marino first and then Kazakhstan and we expect two easy wins from them. The discrepancy in level between Belgium and their next two opponents is too evident. Two wins in October would mean them consolidating first place with 24 points ahead of Russia.
Similarly, France can get to first place with wins in their two matches against Iceland and their direct first-place candidates Turkey. A win against both sides would have them get to top of the group.
