PSV midfielder eyeing Juventus switch
According to Italian website CalcioMercato, Dutch starlet Leandro Fernandes could be on his way to Juventus. The highly-rated midfielder is a client of Italian super agent Mino Raiola. Having brokered several deals with the Bianconeri, Raiola has a strong relationship with the Serie A champions
The article reads that 18-year-old Leandro Fernandes has just one year left on his contract with PSV and is not keen on extending his stay. Moreover, the same report claims that Leandro wants to switch clubs this month and has urged his highly connected agent to facilitate a deal for him. The Nijmegen born star can play in several positions, including as a defensive or offensive midfielder.
Although a move away from Holland is far from done, the youngster is definitely in safe hands with Raiola. The former Pizzaiolo is highly renowned as one of the best agents in the world. His extensive list of clients includes the likes of Mario Balotelli, Paul Pogba and new Arsenal signing Henrikh Mkhitaryan. Many believe that the 50-year-old was the mastermind behind the Armenian’s move from United to Arsenal. The transfer saw his client become the of Gunners best-paid players. Moreover, the deal also saw Alexis Sanchez move the other way to Manchester United.
Furthermore, should Leandro’s wishes come true, the youngster would not be the first Raiola player to move from the Eredivisie to Juventus. In the Summer of 2004, the Italian helped organize the transfer of Ibrahimovic from Ajax to Juventus for €16 million. Moreover, Raiola was also the agent who helped facilitate Nedved’s move from Lazio to Juventus back in 2001.
