The only match for the sixth day of the Copa America will be that between Argentina and Paraguay at the Estádio Governador Magalhães Pinto in Belo Horizonte.

Leo Messi and co. will be hoping they can cancel out the disappointing loss in the opening match against Colombia where they were defeated 2-0 thanks to goals from Martinez and Zapata.

Argentina Team News

Despite having some of the best players on the planet, Argentina most of the time fail to confirm themselves on the big stage. They have failed to go past the quarter-final stages in six of their last seven World Cup participation while they have not won the Copa America in 26 years.

Hoping they can prove everyone wrong, manager Lionel Scaloni will need to set up a balanced yet competitive starting lineup. In goal, Armani will probably be starting for the albiceleste while the line of four in defence will be composed of Casco and Taglifico at fullback positions with Pezzella and Otamendi in the middle.

Within the 4-4-2 formation, the four midfielders are expected to be Pereyra and De Paul on the wings while Paredes and Lo Celso will be starting at central midfield positions.

The two attackers will most likely be Messi and Aguero.

Predicted lineup (4-4-2)

Armani; Casco, Pezzella, Otamendi, Tagliafico; Pereyra, Paredes, Lo Celso, De Paul; Messi, Aguero

Paraguay Team News

As for Paraguay, they are expected to start with Fernandez in goal. The defensive line is expected to be made of Valdez on the right, Balbuena and Alonso at the central positions and Azamendia on the left.

Ortiz and Rojas will take their places at holding midfield positions while the attacking midfielders in the 4-2-3-1 will most likely be Gonzalez, Almiron and Dominguez.

Cardozo is expected to be the only striker for Paraguay.

Predicted lineup (4-2-3-1)

Fernandez; Valdez, Balbuena, Alonso, Arzamendia; Ortiz, Rojas; Gonzalez, Almiron, Dominguez; Cardozo

Head-to-Head

Argentina have lost just one of their last seven meetings with Paraguay in all competitions, with that loss coming in their most recent such encounter – 1-0 at home during the 2018 World Cup qualifiers.

La Albiceleste have never lost against Paraguay in the Copa America, however, going 25 matches without defeat.

They have only faced Chile more times (27) without losing a single game in the competition (excluding penalties).
