Arsenal Team News
“We have to look forward because we have another important game on Tuesday. It’s the first game of the year… we need to win."
— Arsenal FC (@Arsenal) December 31, 2018
Arsenal will be determined to put their 5-1 trashing behind them when they head to Emirates Stadium on New Year’s Day.
Arsenal head coach Unai Emery said; “We need to keep the balance in the middle, be serious and continue on Tuesday with a big match at the Emirates. We need to show our supporters there we are standing up after the result [against Liverpool].”
Their defeat to Liverpool was the Gunners’ third defeat in five fixtures and now sit five points adrift of fourth-placed Chelsea.
Alexandre Lacazette started another big match on the bench, and will start against Fulham on New Year’s Day. Matteo Guendouzi and Laurent Koscielny may also return to the starting XI in Tuesday. Petr Cech may even get a rare Premier League start given the quick turnaround between games, along with Ozil, Monreal and Bellerin if they can recover from their injuries in time.

Fulham Team News
— Fulham Football Club (@FulhamFC) December 30, 2018
Fulham manager Claudio Ranieri was furious with Aboubakar Kamara for ignoring team orders against Huddersfield at the weekend and will surely drop the forward against Arsenal.
Fulham are now only one point adrift of safety after beating relegation rivals Huddersfield 1-0 on Saturday. The Cottagers are unbeaten in their last three Premier League matches and have kept two clean sheets in that time.
Calum Chambers cannot play against Arsenal on New Year’s Day due to the terms in his loan agreement, while Alfie Mawson picked up a knee injury at the weekend and will likely also miss out for Fulham.

Arsenal are favourites to win to bounce back with a much-needed victory. One thing is almost guaranteed in this game: goals. The two sides have conceded a combined 73 goals in the league thus far and have struggled to keep clean sheets throughout. Arsenal go into this fixture having shipped five goals in their defeat to Liverpool, whilst Fulham boast the worst defence in the league. This one could be high-scoring.
