Manchester City will be looking to bounce back from their loss to Liverpool when they host Chelsea. The Citizens aim to overtake the Blues in the standings, but the game against Frank Lampard’s troops will be anything but a walk in the park for the reigning champions.
Guardiola will be hoping Ederson recovers from a thigh strain, though Leroy Sane, Aymeric Laporte and Aleks Zinchenko are out of action for the champions.
Manchester City predicted lineup:
Ederson; Walker. Stones, Fernandinho, Mendy; David Silva, Rodri, De Bruyne; Mahrez, Sterling, Aguero

Chelsea are on a six-game winning run in the national championship, and they must be high on confidence ahead of the trip to Manchester.
Lampard’s Blues have a good chance of coming out on top if they play the same aggressive pressing game as they did against Crystal Palace. However, Manchester City have scored 35 goals in 12 League games already, and a young Chelsea defence will be tested to the absolute limit.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Antonio Rudiger are out, but are likely to be back by mid-December.
Chelsea predicted lineup:
Kepa; Azpilicueta, Zouma, Tomori, Emerson; Kovacic, Jorginho, Kante; Mount, Abraham, Pulisic
The teams met four times last season. City won the Community Shield 2-0; Chelsea then beat City 2-0 at the Bridge in the Premier League; Guardiola won the reverse fixture 6-0 at the Etihad, and then triumphed in the Carabao Cup final on penalties.
Feb 24, 2019, Chelsea 3, Man City 4 (penalities) (EPL)
Feb 10, 2019, Man City 6, Chelsea 0 (EPL)
Dec 08, 2018, Chelsea 2, Manchester City 0 (EPL)
Aug 05, 2018, Chelsea 0, Manchester City 2 (Community Shield)
Mar 04, 2018, Manchester City 1, Chelsea 0 (Premier League)
City are too strong at home for Chelsea to overcome. Being desperate for a win, they will probably be relentless gunning foward for goals. We predict they will win:
Manchester City 3 – 2 Chelsea
