Pogba out for weeks
Following news that Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero will be out for a number of weeks after being involved in a car accident, it is now United’s turn to suffer their own little heartbreak. Portuguese boss Jose Mourinho confirmed that Paul Pogba’s injury is long-term and he expects him to be out until at least November.
Mourinho confirmed the blow while speaking to the media ahead of the Red Devil’s clash with Crystal Palace. When questioned about Pogba’s fitness, Mourinho said –
“He can’t play tomorrow, I don’t speak about long-term injuries. I don’t have hope for him like with Valencia.”
Further reports suggest Pogba must undergo a surgery on his hamstring before returning to action . This would leave the French midfielder out for months rather than weeks. Finnish surgeon Sakari Orava who performed a similar surgery on Barcelona’s Dembele confirmed United has been in touch with him and a decision will be taken this week.
“The decision on surgery will be made next week.”
“His injury is a little different to Dembele, so he could heal without surgery.” confirmed Orava
