€160 MIL OFFER REJECTED

Claudio Lotito claims he rejected €160m for Lazio’s Sergej Milinkovic-Savic. “I don’t think any other President in world football would’ve done what I did.”

Milinkovic-Savic was heavily linked with moves to some of Europe’s biggest clubs last summer but ultimately signed a new contract with Lazio, and Lotito made it clear he was committed to building a ‘winning’ Biancocelesti.

Nonetheless, the Netherlands defender told his native NOS: “I’m not afraid, but I don’t want to leave Ajax in this transfer window.

“We have trophies to win and we all have to stay so we can bring success to our club.”

CHELSEA WOULD PAY £50M FOR WILSON

Maurizio Sarri is willing to pay up to £50m for Bournemouth’s Callum Wilson – if he fails to convince Gonzalo Higuain to come to Stamford Bridge.

Sky Sports News has learnt that the Chelsea boss remains determined to renew his partnership with the Argentinian striker, despite the concerns of the Chelsea board – and efforts by Milan’s sporting director Leonardo to keep him at the San Siro.

Higuain’s arrival would likely signal Alvaro Morata’s departure to Sevilla, with the La Liga club keen on a loan until the summer. We understand Morata’s agent Juanma Lopez is in London to find out how close any potential deals may be.

“We saw with the last two games, his problem is that he can only play in one of them. His only problem is his physical injuries.”
