HERRERA NOT FOCUSED ON NEW DEAL
“If I deserve a new contract it will come,” Herrera said about securing a new deal at Manchester United. Instead, the midfielder is directing his energy to his performance at Old Trafford.
“I’m not going to talk about my contract,” Herrera stated. “We have more important things happening now than my contract so I just try to perform.”
MONACO SIGN GELSON MARTINS
Monaco have confirmed the signing of Gelson Martins on loan until the end of the season.
The Ligue 1 strugglers fended off competition from Arsenal and Newcastle to land the Atletico Madrid man in their bid to stave off relegation.
Monaco owner Dmitry Rybolovlev said: “Welcome to Gelson Martins. Gelson is a fast attacking midfielder who has shown great things in the Sporting jersey and who will be able to bring to the squad all his speed and his abilities.”
SAKO REJOINS CRYSTAL PALACE
Bakary Sako has rejoined Crystal Palace until the end of the season, the club have announced.
The 30 year-old made 50 appearances for Palace during three seasons spent at Selhurst Park, scoring eight goals before his contract expired in 2018.
Boss Roy Hodgson said: “I’m delighted that we’ve managed to bring Bakary back to Palace. He’s a player with a huge amount of talent and as he showed when he was fully fit last year, he is able to provide a boost to our attacking options.”
ATLETICO PASS ON ALEXIS SANCHEZ
Atletico Madrid passed over attempting to sign Alexis Sanchez from Manchester United after the forward demanded a salary in line with that of his current contract at Old Trafford, according to Don Balon.
The Chile international joined the Red Devils in January last year from Arsenal but has failed to produce his best form at the club, though he is improving under new interim manager Ole Gunner Solskjaer.
Atletico were interested in taking the striker to La Liga, though they have signed Chelsea’s Alvaro Morata instead following their refusal to match Sanchez’s requests.
CAMPBELL JOINS CLUB LEON
Former Arsenal striker Joel Campbell was sold from Frosinone to Mexican club Club Leon.
Campbell spent seven years at the Emirates but made just 23 league appearances in between six separate loan spells with the Gunners.
The Costa Rica striker was sold to Frosinone last August but after just eight outings for the Serie A club, the 26-year-old has joined Club Leon.
CALLUM O’HARE SET TO LEAVE
Aston Villa youngster Callum O’Hare is poised to spend the second half of the season on loan at League Two Carlisle, according to Sky reports.
O’Hare, 20. has played just once this season – starting in the FA Cup defeat to Swansea earlier in January.
STOKE EYE VOKES
Stoke City have made an enquiry over a potential £9m move for Burnley Striker Sam Vokes, according to The Mail.
The Wales striker, who scored against Belgium in the quarter-finals of Euro 2016, has found himself out of favour at the Clarets.
MORATA PASSES MEDICAL
Alvaro Morata has passed his medical at Atletico Madrid following his £9m loan move.
The Spanish club have a £48.5m option to buy in the summer.

KEAN NOT ALLOWED TO LEAVE
Juventus head coach Massimiliano Allegri has announced Moise Kean will not be allowed to leave Juventus on a permanent or loan deal this year, according to Le 10 Sport.
The 18-year-old has attracted interest from a number of clubs across Europe, with Marseille thought to be one keen party.
Allegri however has fired down any speculation that Kean will depart Turin and the Scudetto holders, stating he will remain at San Siro.
