CHELSEA’S MORATA CLOSES IN ON ATLETICO MADRID LOAN
Chelsea have reached an agreement with Atletico Madrid to allow Alvaro Morata to leave on loan with the La Liga club having a £48.8 million option to sign the striker on a permanent basis, according to Goal.
BOLASIE ENDS VILLA LOAN
Yannick Bolasie has cut his Aston Villa loan short. Bolasie moved on loan in August and was expected to stay for the remainder of the seson, but his form has been indifferent and it is understood that the winder’s desire to return to Everton was not met with any resistance by the Championship club.
HUDDERSFIELD ANNOUNCE JAN SIEWERT AS NEW HEAD COACH

Huddersfield have announced the 36-year-old Jan Siewert as their new head coach on a two-and-a-half year contract until 2021.
The German leaves Borussia Dortmund to replace David Wagner, who departed the Terriers last week.
GLEN JOHNSON ANNOUNCES RETIREMENT

Former England International Glen Johnson has announced his retirement from football, according to talkSPORT.
The right-back started his career at West Ham and played for Chelsea, Portsmouth, Liverpool and Stoke City before leaving the latter following their relegation last season.
And the 34-year-old feels the time is right to hang up his boots, having won a Premier League and two League Cups during his 16-year career.
ICARDI TO SIGN NEW INTER CONTRACT
Mauro Icard’s wife and agent Wanda Nara has insisted that the striker will sign a new contract at Inter. The Argentine’s deal expires in 2021 but Inter are keen to extend with Real Madrid and Chelsea rumoured to be interested.
MCNEIL IN FOR THE LONG HAUL
Dwight McNeil has signed a new contract with Burnley for four-and-a-half years, extending his stay until June 2023.
The new deal, which has an option for Burnley to extend it by a further 12 months, comes following the 19-year-old’s breakthrough into the Clarets’ first team.
MCTOMINAY EXTENDS MAN UNITED CONTRACT

Manchester United have extended midfielder Scott McTominay’s contract. The new deal runs until June 2023 with the option for a further year.
BLACKPOOL SIGN ELLAS SøRENSEN
Newcastle United forward Elias Sørensen has joined League One side Blackpool on loan until the end of the season.
The 19-year-old links up with Terry McPhillips’ men having just returned from international duty, and will remain at Bloomfield Road until the end of the current campaign.
ARSENAL CONFIRM SVEN MISLINTAT DEPARTURE
Arsenal head of recruitment will leave the club in February after just 14 months. The German, 46, joined from Borussia Dortmund ans was involved in all eight signings Arsenal have made since then.
In a statement, Arsenal said Mislintat had done a “truly outstanding job”.
“It’s been an amazing experience to work at a great club like Arsenal in what has been a big time of change,” said Mislintat, who will leave on 8 February.
“I am excited about what the future holds for the club and am looking forward to new challenges for myself.”
GLEN JOHNSON RETIRES
The 34-year-old defender Glen Johnson announced his retirement from professional football.
The ex-Chelsea, Liverpool and Stoke defender won 54 caps, and played in the 2010 and 2014 World Cups and Euro 2012.
He was also a Premier League title winner with Chelsea in 2005 and three years later was a member of the Portsmouth side that lifted the FA Cup.
“Every player knows when their time is up. I always wanted to retire at an age where my body still felt good,” the 34-year-old told Talksport.
BARCA SET TO SIGN KEVIN-PRINCE FROM SASSUOLO
Kevin-Price Boateng is close to signing for Barcelona on loan from Sassuolo, according to Sky in Italy.
The fee is expected to be in the region of €2m with an option to buy at €8m.
WILSON STAYS AT DERBY
Harry Wilson, who is on loan from Liverpool, will stay at Pride Park for the remainder of this season. Jurgen Klopp initially had the option in the deal to recall the 21-year-old but the deadline for that expired at the end of last week.
ASHLEY COAL DEAL WITH DERBY TO BE FINALISED THIS WEEK
Ashley Cole is expected to complete a move to Derby County by the middle of this week, according to Sky Sports. He will be joining his old friend and Chelsea teammate Frank Lampard.
It has been reported that a short-term six-month contract will be finalised for the three-time Premier League winner.
FULHAM UNLIKELY TO SIGN GARY CAHILL
It is unlikely the Whites will sign Gary Cahill this month having reached a stalemate in discussions with the centre-back, according to Sky News.
Although Fulham have agreed a deal with Chelsea to buy Cahill out of the final six months of his contract, the 33-year-old is understood to want to commit to a longer-term contract at his next club after leaving Stamford Bridge.
Ranieri said: “He is a very important player and, for us, it would be fantastic. But I don’t know if he wants to come and fight with us.”
NO REPLACEMENT FOR BELLERIN
Arsenal are unlikely to sign a replacement for Hector Bellerin during the January window, even if he is ruled out for the rest of the season, according to the Evening Standard.
Arsenal’s medical team are assessing the injury amid fears scans will reveal ACL damage. If the injury is serious, Arsenal will likely use Ainsley Maitland-Niles or Stephen Lichsteiner at right back.
PUGH TO JOIN HULL ON LOAN
Marc Pugh is set to join Hull City on loan from Bournemouth, according to Sky Sports.
The 31-year-old has made 274 appearances for the club, but has only featured in 3 games this campaign.
Eight-placed Hull will hope that Pugh will boost their tilt at the playoffs and close the six-point gap.
AC MILAN & GENOA AGREE TO MEET TO FINALISE PIATEK TRANSFER
According to Sky in Italy, AC Milan are set to meet with Genoa to finalise the move of Krzystof Piatek. The fee is expected to be approximately £31m plus bonuses linked to qualification of the Champions League.
Following the transfer, Gozalo Higuain will then be able to complete his move to Chelsea. It will be a loan deal until June with an obligation to renew it for another 12 months upon certain conditions.
LIVERPOOL REACH AGREEMENT WITH BUVAC
Liverpool have officially come to an agreement with former assistant manager Zeljko Buvac to leave the club.
The 57-year-old left the club in April due to ‘personal reasons’ after which he remained a Liverpool employee, however, it has now been officially reported that he will not be returning to the club.
