Croatia’s Ante Rebic has made a name for himself with his World Cup heroics making him wanted by multiple clubs including Manchester United
Although time is running out for United to complete any transfers before Thursday’s 5pm deadline, the 24-year-old revealed that he has received “concrete offers” to leave Eintracht Frankfurt.
Rebic emerged from Russia 2018 with his reputation greatly enhanced after starring in a team that battled their way to the final through penalty shoot-outs and late goals, before losing out to France.
The Croatian scored a single goal at the World Cup to open the scoring against Argentina in Group D as his team went on to win 3-0.
The winger is reported to be wanted by Manchester United, while Sevilla and Tottenham have also been mentioned as possible summer destinations.
When asked about Jose Mourinho’s apparent interest over a possible €50 million (£44m/$58m) move, Rebic explained that there is enough time to make a deal before the transfer season ends.
“I am obviously glad to hear and read about how many big coaches and clubs are asking about me. Honestly, I think I deserved it!
“I had a great World Cup and an even better club season with Eintracht. Yes, I know there are concrete offers, I keep in regular contact with my agent.
“I’m glad I proved that everyone can count on me, but as I said there is enough time left until the transfer window closes.”
Rebic clearly is in no rush to sign with a new club as he has previously considered his transfer offers in the final days of the transfer window.
“When I moved to Fiorentina the transfer was completed on August 29, and my transfer to Eintracht was done on August 31.
“Most transfers are done during the last days [of the window] so that is when my situation will be more clear. Now I am an Eintracht player and I have returned to training with my team.”
Meanwhile, United are looking to add to their squad as Mourinho seems to be frustrated by the fact that he has not signed enough players for the upcoming season.
Rebic can fit in Mourinho’s squad after United’s poor performance against Bayern Munich on Sunday.
The Portuguese boss warned the Red Devils could be in for a difficult season if they don’t make any further improvements to their current squad.
