Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is set to have French pair Paul Pogba and Anthony Martial out of action due to injury.
Solskjaer benched Martial against Southampton two weeks ago due to an injury to his thigh. French compatriot Paul Pogba damaged his ankle while with the French national team.
That means neither will be able to play against Leicester when Premier League action resumes on Saturday.
Martial is one of Solskjaer’s favourites having been compared to a former United player Cristiano Ronaldo in the past.
These two, therefore, join a long list of injured individuals. In fact, both Wan-Bissaka and Lingard left the latest England squad due to injury as well.
The Red Devils manager gave an update on his injured men situation to reporters: “Well the treatment room’s been busy.
“And it still is. So we don’t really know who’s going to be available. There’s maybe Aaron, maybe Jesse and I think maybe that’s it from the ones that pulled out from national squads, but I can’t promise those two will be available either.
“Pogba won’t be fit, no. Unless he’s had a miraculous recovery overnight from yesterday to today or tonight to tomorrow, he’s not been ready to do 100 per cent training, no.
“We hope more can be ready for West Ham next week and Paul and Anthony are in that category. I think they’ll be ready for then and can’t say more than that really.”
United will be desperate to have their France international stars back available soon.
The Red Devils have collected just five points from four games in 2019-20. They, therefore, need to find inspiration from somewhere as they seek a spark to ignite their season.
United next face 2016’s Premier League champions Leicester and here are the odds for the match.
