The French superstar has hinted at Paris Saint-Germain exit as he spoke to reporters following the Ligue 1 awards ceremony.
Mbappe made his switch from Monaco to Paris Saint-Germain a year ago and has had a very important role at the Parisian club throughout the whole 2018-19 season which ends next season.
He was involved in the biggest transfer ever made for a teenager when PSG cashed out a total of around €180 million for him, including bonuses.
On Sunday, he was named the best player in French football for this season with both the Player of the Year and the Young Player of the Year awards being given to the 20-year-old by the French league.
However, Mbappe has come out with some unexpected suggestions in the post-event interviews, admitting he’s open to a “new project”.
After receiving the prize from Didier Drogba, the 2018 World Cup winner said: “It’s a very important moment for me, I’ve come to a turning point in my career.
“I have discovered a lot here, and I feel it is perhaps the moment to have more responsibility.

“I hope that can be at Paris Saint-Germain maybe, that would be a great pleasure. Or perhaps elsewhere with a new project.”
During this year’s Ligue 1 campaign, the 20-year old forward has netted in 32 goals for the Parisian side as they won the Ligue 1 title for the second consecutive year. Having said that, the French champions failed to keep up with the Champions League expectations they had at the beginning of the season.
Mbappe stood by his comments after the ceremony, adding: “I said what I had to say.
“When you are in such an occasion you can send messages, I think I have sent mine.

“If I speak more it will be too much and that is not the message I wish to send.”
Real Madrid will surely be following any moves made by Mbappe or PSG in the coming months, with Zinedine Zidane who has promised major changes at Real Madrid ahead of next season.
