The Spanish forward, for long on the radar of Manchester United, has signed a new deal with the La Liga side.
Williams, 25, penned a staggering 9-year contract with the club which will see him staying in Spain till 2028.
The Red Devils, who kick-started their Premier League campaign with a stunning 4-0 victory over Chelsea on Sunday, were keen on getting Williams as a replacement to Romelu Lukaku.
United had enquired on the Spanish-born striker but received a simple no from Athletic who clearly had their own plans for the player.

Included within the new contract is a release clause of €135 million with the main intention behind it being that of discouraging top clubs from acquiring his signature in the near future.
The forward has impressed during his time in La Liga and is expected to spearhead the charge for his team once again this season, as the Spanish outfit look to push up the table.
Having joined in 2014, Williams’ pace and goal-scoring prowess has made him one to look at for several top European clubs lately.

His new 9-year contract is one of the longest ever to be handed to a football player but there has been another one which was even longer, the 10-year deal signed by Denilson with Real Betis back in 1998.
Williams said: “Hopefully great things can come because what I want to make this club bigger, if possible.”
“This, as you can see, is my house, and all I want, I have it here. The club has always bet on me, it has given me everything, I feel it is my home.”
