Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann has revealed he wants to end his professional career in the United States, adding that he would jump at the chance to join David Beckham’s new MLS expansion team Inter Miami if the former England captain shows an interest in signing him.
The 27-year-old star recently signed a new long-term deal at his current club, but has a few years to go before he can think about slowing down and heading to the States, however, he claimed to have his eye on spending his golden days in the MLS.
‘If he (Beckham) wants me at his club, then I’ll go,’ Griezmann told L’Equipe.
‘I want to finish in the MLS. We will see if that will be in Los Angeles or Miami. They are two nice cities.
‘I like the mentality and the showbusiness culture they have in the U.S.’
The forward won the World Cup with France last summer, and will be targeting inspiring his club to silverware this season.
Atletico tied Griezmann down to a new contract and the Frenchman will remain in Madrid until at least 2023.
Griezmann’s decision to stay at Atletico after persistent speculation linking him with monster transfer moves to Barcelona and Manchester United in the last 12 months.
Earlier this week Beckham announced the name of his new team would be Club Internacional de Futbol Miami, shortened to Inter Miami, and unveiled the club’s pink and black crest.
Four years ago, we dreamt of a soccer club.
Today, we’re proud to announce the official crest of that club.
Join us on a journey that has only just begun.

Commenting on the announcement, Beckham – who serves as both the franchise’s owner and president of football operations – said in a statement: “This is such a proud day for myself and for the entire team.
“It’s an honour to announce the new name and crest to our fans – we are taking another important step in establishing our club and today marks an important moment in the history of Club Internacional de Fútbol Miami.
“Club Internacional de Fútbol Miami is a name that celebrates the incredible energy of one of the most exciting cities in the world – one that is diverse, passionate and ambitious – a city that has welcomed me and so many others so warmly.
“Our club will be a home for all – no matter where you are from or how you got here. This is just the beginning of our journey as we continue to build towards our first game in 2020.”
Inter Miami will begin playing in MLS in the 2020 season when Griezmann will be 29 years old, meaning it could be several years before his desired move to MLS becomes a realistic possibility.
