Before the international break steals club football away once again next week, here are our betting tips for the weekend’s busy schedule.
We included betting tips for the best match from each of the five top football leagues in Europe.
Southampton vs Chelsea
After a mini-renaissance, Saints are facing a third-straight defeat after losses to Bournemouth and Spurs.
Ralph Hasenhüttl’s side are yet to win at St Mary’s this term, with their only point so far the 1-1 draw with Manchester United back in August.
One thing this team don’t lack though is firepower – since their 3-0 shut-out against Burnley on the opening day, Southampton have scored in every game they’ve played in all competitions.
That includes matches against United, Liverpool and Tottenham.
With the amount of goals Chelsea are currently leaking, this looks on paper like it could be another cricket score.
Betting Tip: Both teams to score in both halves at St Mary’s: 8.5
Torino vs Napoli
Torino started well but they have lost three of their last four games and struggled a little. This is something that Napoli can take advantage of on Sunday night and we are backing them to win this game.
They will need to continue to show they can challenge for the Serie A title once again this season.
The stats and their games from this season all point to goals, so we are going for over 2.5 goals here.
Betting Tip: Over 2.5 goals: 1.65
Barcelona vs Sevilla
Barcelona made an uncertain start to the season but have done better in their last three games. Barca beat Villareal, Getafe and Inter in the Champions League last.
They continue to be incredibly difficult to beat on home soil and Sevilla have a poor record against them away from home.
With two losses in their last three league games and an unconvincing win over APOEL on Thursday, the tip here is for a home win.
Betting Tip: Barcelona win: 1.51
Bayer Leverkusen vs RB Leipzig
Bayer lost 3-0 to Italian champions Juventus during the week in Champions League. RB Leipzig also lost against Lyon to make it their second consecutive loss across all competitions.
As for the match, the hosts are a tough team to beat at home but RB Leipzig are no mugs either. They have won 10 of their last 12 away league games. Considering the stats, we are tipping this game to end in a draw,
Betting Tip: Draw: 3.75
Montpellier vs Monaco
Monaco started their campaign with some very poor results but have been in form in their last couple of matches. They are now in 12th place on the Ligue standings.
They have won their last two back-to-back matches and lost only one match from the last five.
Montpellier are two points above them with three wins, three losses and two draws. They have won all the last three matches played at home.
Monaco are winless from three away matches this season but they have an excellent head-to-head record against the hosts. So far they have lost just once since 1998.
Having said that, we are going for a draw here.
Betting Tips: Draw: 3.27
