Signs of a divided dressing-room?
Despite Bayern Munich’s improved results since Ancelotti’s departure, there still seems to be cracking within the team. A few weeks ago, reports mentioned a bust-up between James Rodriguez and Sebastian Rudy. Now similar reports from Germany suggested that there was yet another bust-up within the Bayern Munich team.
The two players involved were Robert Lewandowski and Mats Hummels. Both players were on the same side during a training session match. Apparently their team conceded a goal. Prior to this goal, instead of defending, the Polish striker went down to tie his lace. This infuriated Hummels. According to Bild, the German defender confronted Lewandowski.
“Lewy, this is not serious. At a time like this you cannot tie your shoelaces, its crap”, Hummels said.
The Polish striker responded and reminded Hummels that it was him who lost the ball. But once again Hummels replied and said: “Mine was a mistake, yours is an attitude problem.”
As time went by, the verbal spat toned down. But the same sources said that the pair did not apologize to each other as they stayed away from each other. This latest episode fuels speculation surrounding Lewandowski. Many sources have been stating that the Polish informed the German champions that he intends to move away from the Allianz Arena. His probable destination is Real Madrid.
