Keeper Alisson Asks Firmino About Liverpool
Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino has revealed that the Reds goalkeeper target Alisson has asked him about a possible move to Anfield this summer. The keeper has been one of a host of many linked with Liverpool over the last year. Recent reports have been ramped up due to the Champions League Final loss, where two shocking errors from Karius handed Real Madrid a 3-1 victory.
Karius and Simon Mignolet are not seen as viable long-term options at Anfield, and signing a top-class goalkeeper is thought to be one of Liverpool’s top priorities this summer.
Atletico Madrid’s Jan Oblak is also a target, but Firmino hopes fellow Brazilian Alisson will to join him at Anfield. When asked if the Roma keeper has spoken to him about the Reds, Firmino said on Wednesday: “Yes, he asked me about Liverpool and I hope he can come here, but I know he has other proposals.
“From time to time I will give him a pinch to come to Liverpool and help us, but it’s with his agents.
“It wouldn’t be bad if he came to Liverpool.”
SkySports News reported that Liverpool attempted to sign Alisson earlier in the season ahead of the summer transfer window, however no further information was given. Firmino has said he would welcome Alisson at Liverpool, and that he would make a great addition to Klopp’s squad.
“Sometimes I talk to him about it and have a joke with him, saying ‘you should come to Liverpool’,” said Firmino.
“His agent is sorting his future but it wouldn’t be a bad thing to have him here at Liverpool.”
More news is yet to come. However, for now, Firmino, Alisson, and Fred have all been included in the Brazil squad for the upcoming Cup in Russia 2018.
