Manchester City fire social media manager and it’s all because of Marouane Fellaini
It is meant to be the happiest time of the year. However, it is anything but that for one guy who has found himself jobless just days before Christmas. The unlucky lad, who worked for a French-based Social Media management company lost his job after Premier League leaders Manchester City chose to end all ties with his employees. City’s decision came after the unnamed social media manager trusted to handle their Twitter profile tweeted a joke at the expense of Manchester United’s Marouane Fellaini.
The Incident happened yesterday when the Sky Blues’ French Twitter account tweeted a picture of Leroy Sane surrounded by fog. The words “If you find who is hidden by the fog. You are unplayable” accompanied the post. Due to the similarities in their hairstyle, @sachaB0 replied with “Fellaini”. To which the now jobless social media guru replied: “No its a football player”.
The hilarious reply amused thousands and was retweeted hundreds of times. Unfortunately for the poor guy, Manchester City’s hierarchy failed to see the funny side. The tweet was quickly taken down, and all ties with the French company terminated. Furthermore, the employee responsible for the tweet was sacked.
