Man United fans: Get to know Fred
Frederico Rodrigues de Paula Santos, simply known as Fred joined Shakhtar Donetsk in 2013 from Internacional. Since switching South America for Europe, the Brazilian has become one of the standout players for the Ukrainian giants making 155 appearances in all competitions.
Fred is an all-around midfielder who shines when played as a defensive midfielder. He is well known for his capability of breaking up play. He also excels at driving the ball from his own half. With Michael Carrick now out of the picture and Belgian midfielder Marouane Fellaini seemingly on his way out, Mourinho feels Fred is the perfect player to help shore up his midfield.
One player who would definitely gain from the transfer of the Brazilian is French superstar Paul Pogba. With Nemanja Matic and Fred as holding midfielders, Pogba would have the freedom to roam with the ball and play his best football.

Under 21 Portuguese international Diogo Dalot could join Manchester United in the next 7 days. United have been in discussions with Porto for the past week and the Red Devils are confident of sealing the deal. Jose Mourinho sees’s the exciting full-back as Valencia’s long-term replacement.
