At age 42, Beckham is set to play competitive football once again
For those David Beckham fans, there’s a big possibility to see their idol whip in free-kicks once again. This comes after reliable sources talked with Online Sports Blog and revealed that a particular Maltese side is set to get the signature of David Beckham.
The Englishman retired five years ago after playing with PSG in the 2012/13 season. Despite retiring, Beckham kept close to football as he led an ownership group for Miami FC. But in the meantime, as Miami FC’s entry application in the MLS is pending Beckham accepted the invitation from this Maltese club to come and play for them. Online Sports Blog won’t reveal the name of the team. But it is understood that this team will most probably play in Europe. Moreover, negotiations have been going underway for quite some time. As both parties seemed to have agreed the financial package, an announcement could be imminent.
Beckham’s signing could be a move much needed for Maltese football in order to draw more crowds to the stadiums. Furthermore, the former Manchester United midfielder will join World Cup winner Cristiano Zaccardo in the Maltese Premeir League who is currently playing with Hamrun Spartans.
We just wish it wasn’t April fools!
