Juventus target Alvaro Morata opens up about Turin visit
Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata has finally explained why he was pictured in Turin days after the end of the English Premier League. Despite only joining Chelsea this season, Morata is already being linked with a move away from the London side. Italian Champions Juventus, who are in the market for a striker, are said to be one of the sides interested in his signature.
Last month, Alvaro Morata was seen having lunch with Bianconeri sporting director Fabio Paratici. Photos of the pair quickly starting circulating with many media outlets claiming Morata to Juventus is almost done. However, in an interview with Italian broadcaster SportsMediaset, Morata explained the reason behind his visit to Turin had nothing to do with a potential move to Juventus.
“We’re here to attend a birthday party,” said Morata
Nevertheless, he did add that his future with Chelsea is uncertain.
“Right now I don’t know anything about my future. Right now I’m just thinking about my holidays.”
Alvaro Morata moving to Turin could be just what he needs.
The 25-year-old striker spent two years very successful years with Juventus. The Spaniard, a favourite with the fans won five titles in just a couple of seasons. The former Real Madrid striker won two Serie A titles, two Coppa Italia winners medals and a Supercoppa Italiana.
After his successful spell with the Italian giants, Morata returned to Real Madrid with the hope of cementing a spot in the first eleven. Despite scoring 15 goals, mostly from the bench, Real decided to cash in on their former academy graduate.
In the summer of 2017, Morata joined Chelsea for a club-record fee of around £60 million. After a solid start, scoring on his debut and recording a hat-trick, the striker’s form dipped.
Alvaro Morata’s poor season resulted in him being dropped from the Spanish team meaning he will not be going to Russia this summer.
