The player was currently on-loan at Perugia
The death of Fiorentina captain Davide Astori raised a few questions. How can a professional athlete who is constantly monitored, suffer a heart attack without any signs of warning? Moreover, according to various reports, Astori had a check-up test just days ago. Unfortunately, the reality is that these deaths have happened in the past and may happen in the future!
As the football world continues to mourn Astori, Roma took immediate action on one of their hot prospect players. In fact the Giallorossi forced Nura Abdullahi to stop all sporting activity for at least 30 days after cardiological tests showed abnormal results. Abdullahi was playing at Perugia on loan this season.
Furthermore, Roma’s medical staff issued this statement regarding Abdullahi:
“On Wednesday 28 February, full-back Nura Abdullahi underwent scheduled cardiological tests. The results of the tests made it necessary that the player stop all sporting activity for a period of 30 days.
“Following the completion of that period of rest, the player will undergo further tests.”
Nura Abdullahi, 20, plays as a right-back. He moved to Perugia at the end of January after featuring in Primavera matches with Roma. Since making the move to Perugia, the Nigerian featured three times.
