Llorente: I cried when I left Juventus

The Spanish striker is set to face his former club next week

As both Tottenham and Juventus prepare for their Champions League battle, former Juventus striker Fernando Llorente goes back memory lane and talks about his past at Juventus. Momentarily, Llorente plays for Tottenham and therefore in a few days he will face his former club.

With Juventus, the Spaniard spent to years before he left for Sevilla in 2015. As he spoke to Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, the 32-year-old said:

“It’s always hard to leave Juventus.

“I left Vinovo in tears and I realized that Trezeguet is right when he says that you only understand what Juventus is when you leave it. It’s a big club but it’s like being part of  a family. Juventus are really respected abroad.”

Then, the Tottenham target man sets his sights for next week’s game. Despite Juventus’ strength Llorente knows that the Spurs can beat them as they did against Real Madrid.

“We are a very young squad. We are improving and we’ve already beaten Real Madrid. We dream of getting till the end of this competition. Anything can happen in Champions League. If Juve win against us they can win the title.”

In the end, Llorente shows his true colours and tips his former club to beat Napoli for the Serie A.

Juventus are a top club, it will be hard for them to make 102 points like they did when I was there. Napoli are a having a great campaign but I think Juve will win the title again in the end.”
