The temporary manager will lead the Italians in the March friendlies
As the search for a new CT continues, the Italian football federation confirmed that it has appointed an interim manager. This manager will therefore take care of the team selection and management for the friendly matches against Argentina and England. The Italians will play both matches in March
A statement on the FIFC’s official website stated:
“Following a meeting held today at the FIGC’s headquarters in Rome, in the presence of Extraordinary Commissioner Roberto Fabbricini and his deputy Alessandro Costacurta, it has been decided that Luigi Di Biagio will be CT for the two international games in March, scheduled for the 23rd against Argentina in Manchester and the 27th with England in London.”
Di Biagio, 46, is the actual Under 21 manager for the Italian national team. Moreover, he clocked up 31 appearances with the Azzurri and featured in the 1998 and 2002 World Cup and EURO 2000. Additionally, Di Biagio played for Lazio, Roma and Inter among other teams.
